November &… Leaves!
“Silence, all around, but for the gusts of wind carrying, from distant gardens and orchards, the sound of fragile leaves falling” (Giovanni Pascoli)
And how romantic and truly melancholic is fall, with its mesmerizing warm-coloured leaves! When it’s rainy and a bit chilly outside, why not indulge our inner artist and craft a November-inspired, lemon-scented interior design piece?
Fall is here, gardens are filed with leaves and it’s cold outside. We would rather stay indoors, but do not wish to stifle our creativity. What can we do?
Let’s make a gorgeous lemon-scented autumn leaves basket!
- Autumn leaves (pick 20/25)
- 1 balloon
- polyvinyl acetate-based glue (a.k.a. white glue)
- Limmi lemon juice
- rose essential oil
- 1 empty spray container (travel-sized is fine)
First of all, go to the park and pick up the most colorful autumn leaves you can find (that have not dried out yet).
Place three drops of rose essential oil and 2 tablespoons of Limmi lemon juice in an empty spray container.
Inflate the balloon, and brush glue over its bottom. Done? Good. Now attach the leaves to the balloon, and brush their top with more glue, this time slightly diluted with water.
Now, go prepare one of the basic LIMMI lemon juice-based recipes, as our basket needs to dry for at least 1 hour. 🙂
Once the leaves are dry, poke the balloon, and slowly remove it from the basket.
Spray the rose and lemon fragrance on the basket, and voilà, mission accomplished.
