Here is a stylish idea to personalize your table settings for dinner on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and yes, we might as well add New Year’s too!
Christmas tree-shaped place marker
A Christmas tree that looks as good as it tastes. Here’s how to make a Christmas tree-shaped place marker with lemon scented sugar paste.
- 30 ml water
- 50 g honey
- 500 confectioner’s sugar
- 5 g gelatine sheets
- 5 g food coloring
- 3 tablespoons LIMMI lemon juice
Soak the gelatine in cold water till soft, put it in a small saucepan, add 50 g of honey, then stir in confectioner’s sugar until it turns into a pliable ball of paste, which you will knead till smooth. Divide the paste into mounds. Add food coloring (gel or paste) and lemon juice, then knead vigorously until completely absorbed.
Now your sugar paste is ready to use.
Make a cone, then use dough cutters to make leaves, put them on the cone, and voilà your place card is ready.
You can create yellow trees, or use green food coloring to make green Christmas trees to decorate with small, lemon scented, yellow sugar paste balls.
