Lemon at breakfast

colazione al limoneBreakfast is the most important meal of the day, the energy fill-up you need for studying and working through the day.

Breakfast has a taste and aroma of its own in each Country. In Greece, good morning is said over olives, feta and tomatoes. In the United Kingdom the day starts with beans, eggs, bacon, sausage, tomatoes and mushrooms, while in the United States most have pancakes with maple syrup, muffins, and waffles. In Sweden the palate awakens to the scent of delicious mixed berry jams, to spread over rye bread, and in France with croissants good enough to fuel a Revolution (remember the famous phrase Rousseau attributed to Queen Marie Antoinette “If they don’t have bread, let them eat brioche”?! )

In Italy cappuccino and brioche are medal winners among breakfasts enjoyed at bars, while the national grand prize for most popular home-breakfast items goes to cakes, cookies, and bread with butter with jam.

And then there’s people like us, for whom breakfast is a glass of freshly squeezed, sun-yellow energy. Are you ready to go back to school (and work) energized by lemon juice?

Indulge your palate with delicious lemon poppy seed muffins  or a delicate lemon pound cake . Perhaps you’d rather have a slice of lemon cake  or even a couple of irresistible lemon flavored cookies?

Drink it up with some orange or lemon juice or a hot lemon tea.

We have something to delight any palate! With a lemon-scented breakfast, schoolwork will be as easy as drinking lemonade!

Best wishes for back to school (and work)! 🙂
